Training and volunteering

NEST runs programmes and workshops each year. An excellent way to learn more is to volunteer and join in by helping out when we are running one of the programmes. This informal “on the job” type training can be a life changing experience in itself. We also run a selection of workshops which explore a range of approaches for engaging people in the natural world around them. See our news and events page for opportunities this year.

Earth Education Workshops

There is a range of workshops to help teachers and outdoor educators:

Introductory workshopIntroductory and Advanced Workshops

These workshops are designed to teach participants the techniques behind earth education including methodology, concept building strategies, good leadership skills and natural awareness experiences. Earth education has been at the cutting edge of environmental education for 30 years.

Skill development workshopSkill Development Workshops

These workshops follow on from the introductory and advanced workshops and explore in greater depth themes introduced in these, such as finding out more about programmes, building your own programme and trying out a wide range of techniques.

Workshops are run by facilitators from the Institute for Earth Education unless otherwise stated.
